From August 6th to 9th, Billingham Juniors Ice Hockey Club hosted its eagerly anticipated summer camp, attracting over 60 young players eager to sharpen their skills and enjoy the sport they love. This year’s camp was particularly special, featuring some of the biggest names in British ice hockey who provided expert guidance to the future stars of the game.
Among the highlights of the camp was the presence of Rob Dowd, a former Billingham Bomber who has gone on to captain both Team GB and the Sheffield Steelers. Dowd’s return to Billingham was met with excitement, and he brought with him a wealth of experience and specialized skills that left a lasting impact on the young participants. His sessions focused on advanced techniques, giving the kids a taste of what it takes to compete at the highest levels of the sport.
Another familiar face at the camp was Billingham Stars’ own captain, Michael Elder.
